i forgot to tell you about my raccoon encounter. michaels parents live in a rural area, so there are raccoons and coyotes everywhere. sooo as i was driving home last night around 9pm i came around a bend and a HUGE raccoon was just sitting in the middle of the road then he started walking/hopping/whatever raccoons do, to get out of the way. i didnt want to slam on my brakes because addison was asleep, so i didnt want to scare her. so instead, i closed my eyes really tight and kind of prepared myself for the bump and crush of the poor animal under a 3,669lb suv. (i googled it.) well, plus the weight of addison, her carseat, stroller, and me. poor little raccoon wouldnt have had a chance. but luckily he ran out of the way. he must have just barely made it because i was fully expecting to run the thing over.
addison has been quite a grump today, not a fan. she has been fighting sleep and only taking 10 minute naps. frustrating. i put her in her crib and so far she's been asleep for about 20 minutes. lets hope she takes an actual nap so i'm not so grumpy. i mean.... so she isnt so grumpy!
michael and i tried out skype today. its cool and all but i thought it would have a nicer picture. its kind of grainy and mine kept getting all dark. which i dont understand because i had no other windows open so there was nothing else slowing it down. oh well :) better than nothin! oh man, while we were talking, addison had a diaper blowout. like a poo-splosion. she hasnt had one of those since she was in newborn diapers!!
i bought a usb plug in thing for the laptop so my wireless works, so now i can sit on the couch and use the internet, instead of sitting in my (equally awesome) glider chair. but this should hopefully work better since the cable cord was getting a little used and abused. it had to be sitting just right otherwise it would make the internet stop working. bleh it was annoying.
so the rest of the evening has been okay, michael and i skyped again, its nice to get to see him every once in a while. addison just stared at the computer screen at him, it was cute. just stared and sucked on her hand, and slobbered everywhere. the usual.
earlier today, someone from family services called and asked how i am doing. i was a little caught off guard to say the least. especially since i was super confused as to why she was calling. i said i was fine, which i am today. then she gave me her number and said i can call her at anytime if i need to. she said it probably 5 times in a 2 minute conversation.
i just put addison to bed. she is getting better at going to sleep on her own, i think she is getting use to the fact that crib = bedtime. i keep looking at her on the monitor and her eyes will be open then closed, then open, then closed... shes so stinkin cute. i love her! although when i first put her in there tonight i was trying not to laugh at her because she kept blowing raspberries and sticking her tongue out at me. oh, her eyes are open again but theyre definitely heavy.
i'm going to bed too.
That's awesome that you were able to use Skype. We do that with Andrew's grandparents, and I swear it helps... he recognizes them easier!
ReplyDeletePS: That Social Services thing is strange. Did you ask her why she called?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you would be able to skype...that's awesome and I'm glad Addison gets to see him! Gives you one less thing to worry about. That is really strange that social services called you..I wonder if they are just linked to the army and are suppose to call and check on the wives every once in awhile so they know they have someone to talk to in case they are living out of state or something...I don't it's still odd though, if that was the case they should have told you.
ReplyDeleteshe is a family services rep from ft lewis, just calling to see how i am handling things i suppose. we didnt talk for long but i think she just wanted to make sure that i know she is there if i need.
